Biography

A Commitment to Excellence

Roy Hollingsworth has deep roots in the community and dedicated to serving it.

Dr. Roy Hollingsworth began his career in public service with the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service in 1978, serving as a County Agricultural Extension Agent. As an Extension Agent, he provided educational and technical assistance to Hampton, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, and Jasper County citizens in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Community Development, and 4-H Youth Development. In July 2011, he retired from Clemson University with 33 years of public service. 
 
 A resident of the Varnville community area, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Florida A & M University, a Master's Degree in Agricultural Education from Clemson University, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Rural Sociology from the Union Institute and University. 


 
Dr. Hollingsworth has a long history of civic and community service. Presently, he is chairman of the Arnold Fields Community Endowment - Board of Directors. In addition to belonging to the Allendale-Hampton-Jasper Counties Youth Farmers Chapter, he is also Vice Chairman of the Hampton Regional Medical Center - Board of Directors.
